I always learn something after I make a dish. And in typical teacher fashion, I like to "reflect" on what I could have done better. I would definitely purchase some popsicle sticks instead of using skewers for this item. So after I get more popsicle sticks I will be poking them into all sorts of fruits for my little girl to munch. And I guess I could always cover them in chocolate and nuts someday for a special treat...just like at the fair.

Banana Popsicles
Okay, so this isn't an original idea by any means. Julia is always asking for a "popcle" or popsicle. I did find some popsicles that are rather small and only about 3 grams of sugar per serving. But the other day I made a bowl of fruit for us to snack on and had half a banana left over. So I cut it in two, stuck skewers in them, wrapped them in saran wrap, and stuck them in the freezer. Today when she asked for a "popcle" I grabbed for a frozen banana and she didn't seem to mind.

My kids love to eat frozen grapes on a stick or just out of the bowl. I also freeze Gogurts. Buy lollipop sticks from Michaels and use those instead of the skewers. Another fun idea for snacks (or just meal time) get a cupcake holder (6 cup) and in every compartment you put a different snack. This is what I do for Isaac. He has to snack all day long. So, I make one of these trays up in the morning and whatever he doesn't finish he can have at the next feeding. He thinks it's cool that he has so many options. And I only had to prepare snacks once. Okay so maybe 4 times because it's Isaac. LOL I have more recipes for you too. When I get a chance I will email them.
Rosie...I am no "Super Mom" you are so funny! It would be nice to meet you someday though. Put a face to a name!
You two probably met at the baby shower but that was over two years ago! I did get some good ol' fashioned popsicle sticks and they worked like a charm. She so thinks she is getting away with something by getting a popsicle in the morning. I also bought the Tupperware popsicle maker thingies and have used those for her yogurt pops.
Thanks for your tips and I can't wait for new recipes. I haven't finished the ones you have given me so far. I guess I try like one a month.
